Become a MySpace Rockstar!

Ok. So I went ahead and bought the MySpace Friend Blaster Pro software I was talking about in my previous post. I did quite a bit of research into MySpace and why you should or shouldn't use it.

First of all I jotted down some points of interest:

Advantages

Almost everyone on MySpace accepts friendship invitations (providing you have an interesting profile).
Different demographic to promote to, mainly Generation Y and some Generation X (very tech savvy!).
You can integrate your feeds from Twitter, so your status can be updated without even visiting MySpace.
There are hundreds of apps that can be added to build a cool profile page in minutes (plenty of great YouTube apps!).

Disadvantages

MySpace outbound links are converted, so it isn't fantastic for backlinking to your website (this can also be an advantage for posting affiliate links!).
Like all social media, it can leave you open to receive a lot of SPAM.

Embrace MySpace for Marketing

Now, I like many Internet Marketers have ignored MySpace in the past until I came across some software this week that I thought I should try out.

Why have I always had so little respect for MySpace? Well, it always seemed like Facebook for kids to me. Everyone on there seems to be quite ego driven focusing on quantity of friends over quality....

This last point made everything clear. People are less guarded on MySpace, more willing to let a complete stranger into their circle of friends.
